Help for Monthly Results page
1. Overview
The Monthly Results page shows the net profit or loss for each basket component,
on a month-by-month basis. A sample display (simplified) is shown below.
2. "Format for Monthly data" control bar
This control bar allows you to select the Sort Order and Scaling,
as follows:
- Sort Order (the order in which components are listed) can be:
- "Alphabetic", which is helpful if you want to look at a specific
system;
- "System profit/loss", which will list the systems with the
highest profit first; or
- "Individual profit/loss", which will list the
system-components with the highest profit first.
- Scaling can be selected as either:
- "Percent", in which case the profit/loss values are displayed as
a percentage of the Conservative or User account size; or
- "Dollars", in which case the profit/loss values are displayed in
U.S.dollars.
3. "Component" column
This column contains the name of the component: either a System-Contract-Datatype,
a system total, or a basket name.
4. "$KAct" column
This column contains the Vendor, Conservative, and User account sizes, in much the
same format as described in the
Summary Results help page.
5. "Wt" column
This column contains the weight for each component.
6. Monthly Profit/Loss data
These columns form the bulk of this display page. The display begins at the oldest
month for which a component has data, and continues to the most recent month.
Some particulars:
- The column headings have the format "Ymm" where Y= the units digit of the
year (e.g. "2004" => "4"), and mm = a two-letter abbreviation for the month.
For example "4jn" means 2004-Jun. These headings are deliberately short,
so although they may not be aesthetically pleasing, the width of the page
display is kept to a minimum.
- The "Component" column is repeated every 12 months, so it can usually be seen
as you scroll across the page.
7. "12-mo %PL" column
This column contains the percentage profit/loss for the most recent 12 months.
This number is used when the Sort Order is System or Individual, in which case the
sort values are highlighted.
