Overview of the Pages on Futures Examiner

1. Intro pages

The introduction pages provide a General intro to the overall website, and intros to three of the more interesting parts of the website, the Results page, the Summary Results display, and the Basket Design page. The intros can be accessed from the "Start Here" box on the Home page.

2. Results page

The Results page contains the Results Control Panel, which is "action central" for looking at the results that we track. Results are grouped into "baskets", and the *All Current Actuals & Hypotheticals basket contains all the results that we track, both Actual and Hypothetical. The *All Current Actuals basket contains only the Actual results.

You begin by selecting the desired basket, and then clicking Summary, Monthly, or Statistics to generate the corresponding display for the basket components. You can choose the sort order for these displays: Alphabetic, System profit/loss, or Individual profit/loss. The displays are as follows:

Hopefully, you will spend many engrossing hours poring over results pages! For more information, please refer to the Results Page intro or help file. Please note that the Basket Design page allows you to define your own custom baskets, for example to facilitate viewing a group of systems that you want to track, or to design a hypothetical portfolio with a smooth equity curve.

3. Trading Systems pages

The "Trading Systems" drop-down menu contains links to various pages related to the trading systems that we track:

4. Contracts pages

The "Contracts" drop-down menu contains links to several pages that contain helpful reference information:

5. Help pages

The "Help" drop-down menu contains links to a number of pages that contain detailed explanations for various pages on the website.

6. For Partners pages

The "For Partners" drop-down menu provides access to the Advertise, Provide Data, and Compliance with NFA Rules pages. These pages will be of interest to our partners and potential partners.

7. About Us pages

The "About Us" drop-down menu contains links to a number of pages that tell you a little bit about the "who" and "why" behind the development of Futures Examiner, our Mission and Policies, and how to Contact Us.

8. Basket Design page

This page allows you to design your own custom baskets, for example to follow a particular group of systems, or to create a hypothetical portfolio with a smooth equity curve. The layout is similar to that of the Results page, except that you can select a particular group of components and save them in a named basket. You first display one or more baskets that contain the components you want, by clicking the Show basket and Include basket buttons. Then you select specific components by clicking boxes in the Select column. To save your basket, you type in a name for it, and click the SaveAs button. The Basket Design page is accessed from the Results page, and requires membership (free!) and login. For more information, please refer to the Basket Design intro or help file.

9. Member LogIn Form

This form, which is displayed as part of the Home page, allows you to Log In, which is required so you can create and access your own personal baskets. This form also contains links to Register as a member, and get a new password if you have forgotten your old one. After you have logged in, you will receive a welcoming message, along with a form that will allow you to change your password, or change your registration details.

The Registration form must be filled out for you to become a member. There is no charge for this, and only a minimum of personal information is requested. The registration form is accessed by clicking the "Register" link at the bottom of the "Member Login" form on the Home page. You can choose your username, and if it is already taken you can try another. We ask for your first and last name so that when you log in we can welcome you in a more personal manner. We ask for your city, region, and country so we can get an idea of where our users are, which may help us to serve you better. Most importantly, we need your email address, in order to send your password to you, and to send you our monthly newsletter. We also ask you to read and agree to the terms and conditions for using this website.
